Live in the moment is going to be the new way that you go about living your life, not just on campus, but everywhere. So what does it mean to live in the moment and why is it so important for you to live your life this way? Well let me explain.
A great way to instill self doubt, develop anxiety, hinder your social skills, and lower your self confidence is to dwell upon the past. There is absolutely nothing you can do about the past, absolutely nothing. No matter how much you consider ways that you could have changed situations, what happened has happened and that's that. What ends up happening when you are dwelling on the past, especially negative experiences, is you are creating a psychological pattern in your mind that convinces you to believe what happened in the past will happen again. So if you had a bad experience trying to approach a woman or trying to talk in a social situation and you are dwelling on it, you will eventually begin to feel that it is hopeless trying to approach women or talk openly in a social situation because you will just get rejected again and suffer the same pain you just suffered.
Let me tell you something. This is NOT true! You can and you will, with work, have success approaching women and in social situations, or in any situation for that matter, if you can learn not to dwell on the past. Dwelling on the past hinders your ability to focus on the present; it hinders change, it hinders the development of the skills needed for success, it hinders positivity and confidence. (Note: you can learn from the past but when you consider the past it must be in an unemotional and rational manner so you can take the lessons provided from past experiences and apply them to the present.)
Living in the moment is simply not dwelling on the past and focusing your mind and attention on the present moment.
In the following blogs, I will teach you how to live in the moment as well as the first steps to take to develop limitless self confidence.
This is definitely something I have to work on. Didn't even realize until I read this how much I dwell on the past and don't really focus on the present.
